Scottish youth football, supporting Rwandan youth football

As a registered charity, we are supporting children and communities in Rwanda through our shared love of the game

Taking volunteer groups of Scottish youth footballers (age 16-18) to Rwanda, along with experienced youth coaches.

Sharing what we know and what we have, to support the development of grassroots youth football in one the World’s most deserving nations

“Daunting, unknown, challenging, emotional, exciting, rewarding, amazing, something everyone needs to do in their life!”

An incredible experience for any young footballer or coach, volunteering to make a difference

Making an impact

Every trip not only brightens up the lives of the kids we meet, but we do our best to make a material difference, from funding to equipment to coaching experience - no matter how small, it all counts

Experience of a lifetime

An overused phrase sometimes, but these trips truly are the experience of a lifetime for the youths and coaches involved

Rwanda has a recent history that we can only shake our heads at in disbelief and horror, and it has crippling levels of child poverty. Yet the people you’ll meet show an incredible resilience, grace and friendliness - it changes your perspective on what really matters in life

Itinerary

"I'm so grateful for my experience in Rwanda. The trip offered me a new perspective on life, shifting my understanding in ways I hadn't anticipated, and it has genuinely changed me.

Despite being on the same planet, Rwanda feels like an entirely different world compared to Scotland. From what I witnessed, Rwanda is undoubtedly one of the most deserving countries in the world, filled with resilience and hope that deeply touched my heart. I already have a sense of longing.

What’s Involved?

Over 10 days a group of 16 youth players and 6 experienced youth coaches will visit several parts of Rwanda, from the capital Kigali to the Western District of Karongi, organising football sessions for kids of all ages and abilities, from Rwanda’s leading Academies to Street Rescue children

The trip will also visit several Genocide Memorial sites, to put everything into perspective
