Volunteer Donations

Welcome on board, and many thanks again for joining our trip. We can promise you an experience that you’ll never forget.

In return we have asked you to support our efforts in Rwanda by donating the amount agreed when you signed up. Please read our donations and cancellation policy below, and confirm your agreement. Thank you.

Donations Policy

Scottish Football for Rwanda is a registered charity managed by volunteers, and all donations received are used to fund our charitable activities and projects in Rwanda.

Volunteers travelling to Rwanda with the charity pledge to donate an agreed amount to the charity to support our efforts. NOTE: donations made in connection to a volunteer are not to “pay for” their trip, we are not a travel agency.

Donations must be made on a Just Giving page, enabling the charity to track their efforts and to collect gift aid.

Cancellations

The following policy applies if a volunteer withdraws from a trip:

1.    In general, and in line with most charities, donations will not be “refunded”. This includes the initial donation of £250, which is non-refundable regardless of circumstances.

2.    Any refunds made will be wholly at the discretion of the Charity’s Board of Trustees, who must act in the best interests of the charity and in line with charity regulations, and will depend on the exceptional circumstances of the cancellation

3.    No refunds will be issued if a volunteer withdraws within six 6 months of the date of departure.

4.    If a volunteer withdraws from a trip due to exceptional circumstances such as illness or injury, they will be permitted to transfer to a future trip

5.    If the Board of Trustees do decide to return donations (e.g. more than 6 months before a trip), they can only do this directly to the individual donors, by bank transfer, due to money laundering regulations). In this scenario, only individual donations of £50 or more will be eligible for a refund.
